In 2002, Eileen was invited to initiate and develop GMP appraisal for her local PCT. From the outset, she was keen that busy practitioners should recognise appraisal as a valuable tool in the process of professional development and, in 2009, published a paper on its positive impact. Since 2011, Eileen has also been involved in appraisal for GDPs and is now working with the Dental Deanery in delivering for the patients and local practitioners in Wessex.
