Additional informationThis course is to refresh and update Dental Nurses who assist with sedated patients discussing the importance of patient observations and the methods of monitoring.

Mrs Rogers first qualified as a DSA in 1982 and holds NEBDN Nat. Cert, and post qualifications in Sedation, Radiography and OHE. As a Dental Nurse Tutor at Bristol Dental Hospital she is involved in pre and post registration training and qualified CMI Cert Management, FEATC and V1 NVQ Assessor/Verifier.
Chair of NEBDN Radiography post qualification and winning DDU Tutor of the year in 2010, she is a busy wife, mother, and author enthusiastically supporting DCPs in their further education.

Aims
  1. Be provided with a theoretical CPD day in Conscious Sedation for Dental Nurses assisting with sedation
  2. Have theoretical knowledge on the current legislation associated with dental sedation
  3. Understand the importance of clinical monitoring an the associated equipment.
  4. Understand why and how we obtain clinical observations from patients, why and how we monitor patient’s vital signs.
  5. Recognise what is a normal and abnormal reading during monitoring and recognise the equipment used for monitoring patients
