DescriptionThis mandatory course for Vocational Training by Assessment (VTA) trainers and trainees will cover: • VTA forms and guidance • Portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competency against the Committee of Postgraduate Deans and Directors (COPDEND) requirements • Personal Development Plans (PDPs) • Clinical audit • Critical reflection in everyday practice. This course is one of a number of courses designed to provide an introduction to NHS dentistry and is essential for dentists who are undertaking Vocational Training by Assessment. This course is also suitable for dentists who are new to the NHS and dentists returning to NHS practice. Other dentists can book to attend if places remain available 14 days in advance of the course. Noel Davies BDS Dip Med Ed, GDC 57726 has been a GDP for 30 years, having graduated from Dundee University in 1983. He is the Principal of a three-dentist practice in Southampton, credited with BDA Good Practice status, and a serving DFT Trainer for the Portsmouth scheme. Noel is also the Training Programme Director for Vocational Training by Assessment - Wessex area and a GDP Appraiser for Hampshire. He has recently completed the Deanery sponsored Mentoring course and gained his Diploma in Medical Education from Winchester University.
