Dental professionals play an essential role in safeguarding; we are trained to recognise signs of abuse in patients and act accordingly to preserve our patients’ safety. The focus of this presentation is to highlight the importance of dental professionals learning how to create a safe space for patients and colleagues to ask for support if they are experiencing domestic abuse. The aim is to make a systematic change in the way this issue is handled in the UK, including in dentistry. GDC outcomes A & D.
