Description: This is a fantastic opportunity to revise theory on direct and indirect techniques for restoring teeth and gain hands on practice. Focus is on contemporary techniques including restoring function and getting the occlusion correct. This is a blended learning course which will have 6 hours of CPD via webinars and comprehensive course notes in advance of a 6 hour CPD practical day held at the Exeter Dental Education Facility. The course is for 2 small groups so there will be plenty of opportunity for practice and discussion. Direct restorative techniques with composites will be delivered as table top hands on practice. Indirect restorative techniques – from perfect preps to cementation will be practiced on phantom heads in the clinical skills lab. Course content will cover, material and preparation selection, difficult margins, impressions, provisional restorations, cementation, occlusion and contacts for all types of indirect restorations therefore includes many aspects of bridges. There will be a section on RBBs and conventional bridges in the course notes. Please see the programme for more details.

Description: The Southwest Special Care and Paediatric Managed Clinical Network in conjunction with Somerset LDC, invite you to a FREE evening of virtual case discussion and patient management. Specialist colleagues and experienced practitioners from around the region will talk us though some cases that we may all be seeing in practice. The panel, made up of members of the MCN, will discuss various approaches to management as well as addressing questions from the audience. Description: Alex is a GDP in Bristol and has been providing Oral Surgery in Hospital and Practice for over 20 years. In addition to his own patients, he treats both NHS and Private patients on referral. Since the inception of the North Bristol MOS Contract which he was awarded in 2010, he has treated over three and a half thousand patients for routine oral surgery procedures with and without IV sedation who otherwise would have been referred to hospital. This online session is designed to share his perspective on oral surgery in practice. In doing so he aims to encourage GDPs to carry out routine procedures by using a systematic approach to treatment.
