Description: Please join us for an interactive and practical update day on IV sedation, cannulation and venepuncture. The course is suitable for all members of the team providing sedation as part of the requirements for the recommended 12 hours of sedation-related verifiable CPD in each 5 year cycle. Theory sessions will cover patient assessment, safety and cannulation tips and tricks and how to manage those difficult situations. Hands on activities will include cannulation practice on training arms then an opportunity to practice on each other in a clinical setting in the Exeter Dental Education Clinical Teaching Facility. Chris Bell and Tim Harris have a wealth of experience in dental IV sedation and share their top tips in a relaxed atmosphere. This will be a relatively small group.

Research demonstrates how orthodontic correction of such malocclusions can change lives. This webinar aims to raise awareness of the various types of malocclusions which could increase the risk of bullying and will help us to recognise safeguarding risks and make timely referrals to help patients in this situation. Description: Join us for an evening exploring the latest evidence and guidance on antimicrobial prescribing, resistance and stewardship with Dr Nikolai Stankiewicz and Liam Shaw. Nikolai is the dental representative for the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaboration and will lead us in considering the dental team's role in protecting patients from antibiotic resistance, explore our options for prescribing in practice and identify resources for delivering antimicrobial stewardship in practice. This lecture will be based on the latest regulations, guidance and prescriber competency framework for antimicrobial prescribing. Liam is a biologist at the University of Bristol who is researching the evolution and spread of antibiotic resistance and is the author of the recently published 'Dangerous Miracle - A Natural History of Antibiotics - and how we burned through them'.

Description: This one hour webinar session will cover assessing the occlusion quickly and going on to fix basic problems (tooth wear, cracked tooth syndrome, TMJ pain) easily with reversible, non-aerosol generating procedures. Professor Brian Millar aims to help the dental team in practicing non-cutting, more adhesive dentistry techniques, getting the occlusion right without the need to adjust and polish, under rubber dam. This is a demonstration webinar. There will not be a power point presentation but a workbook will be available to accompany the online session. This webinar is a repeat of part of a series provided by Brian Millar. It can be booked as a stand alone session.
