Description: Prof Ama Johal is a leader in the field of Dental Sleep Medicine and will give an overview of the current understanding of the spectrum of sleep-related breathing disorders. The course will include their prevalence, aetiology, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment options. It will also highlight the role of the dental profession in the management of sleep-disordered breathing in adults. Professor Ama Johal, as well as being an orthodontist, has 25 years of clinical and research experience in Dental Sleep Medicine gaining a PhD in the subject in 2005. He is currently Vice President of the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine

Description: Vinod Patel (Consultant Oral Surgeon,Guys Hospital) will be coming to Bath to discuss arguably the two most important things we face in general practice, Osteonecrosis and Haemostasis. Vinod will provide an update on Osteonecrosis of the jaw including; Medication Related Osteonecrosis, bisphonates, desumab and new drugs, osteoradionecrosis and the management of patients at risk or with established Osteonecrosis. He will guide us through medications affecting haemostasis, and discuss the management of an intra oral bleed. All members of the dental team are very welcome.
