Description: Rick Kerr (Senior Surgeon) and the team from Exeter, will be joining us virtually for a unique opportunity to offer help to those of us that find minor oral surgery challenging. This is the first of a two part course, for no more than ten dentists. This small group will enable the learning needs of all participants to be addressed. Rick is happy to look at radiographs and discuss cases with participants. Over the two sessions we will be considering what is appropriate in general practice, important patient and medical factors, practical challenges, key instruments and the principles of sectioning teeth, elevating roots and when and how to raise a flap. COVID has changed practice for all of us, where triage prioritises face to face care for dental emergencies. For some of us, this has been challenging especially for those of us with limited clinical experience.

Description: This evening course covers local anaesthetic and paediatric extraction techniques, equipment, assessment and difficulties commonly encountered in these situations. Waiting lists for general anaesthetics for children's extractions can be variable in these Covid times. This course aims to increase confidence for the team and to help to get children out of pain, remove infection and avoid a GA. The session is suitable for therapists and dentists including PLVE and all members of the dental team who may like to refresh their knowledge in giving local anaesthetics and undertaking paediatric extractions.

This hour long webinar includes a hands-on demonstration of rubber dam techniques: showing clearly the kit you need, how to set it up, several ways to do the dam application and many tips to make it work easier. It includes which teeth to clamp, how to deal with broken down teeth and how to remove the dam safely. Professor Brian Millar aims to help the dental team in practicing clinical dentistry in a new environment where aerosols are to be avoided and the risk of coronavirus transmission minimised.
