A hands on training day aimed at dental nurses and orthodontic therapists, to disclose plaque, record the results, give appropriate oral health advise and apply topical fluoride varnish to patient's teeth. Recommended reading prior to the course Delivering Better Oral Health 3rd edition (Public Health England ) Improving Oral Health Changing Behaviour (Department of Health) Basic Guide to Oral Health Education and Promotion - Felton & Chapman (2013) We recommend that delegates have at least 6 months registration with the GDC prior to applying for this course. The second part of the course will be an Observed Clinical Structured Examination (OSCE) on 14th November 2015 it is important that delegates are able to attend this day also. Delegates will be issued with a log book in which to record 10 patient events for plaque scoring and 10 patient events for fluoride varnish application.
