DescriptionThis course is suitable for those who wish to improve the quality of their intra-oral radiographs as well as their diagnostic knowledge and skills. The course comprises of theoretical instruction covering normal and abnormal anatomy as well as practical guidance and participation for intra-oral views focusing on film placement to improve radiographic techniques. Due to limited spaces the course can facilitate questions in an informal setting and diversification to meet the needs of the audience.

Objectives

The objectives of the course are:

  1. To be able to recognise normal anatomy, artefacts and pathology on dental panoramic tomographs (DPTs)
  2. To be able to recognise normal anatomy, the pathology of caries, periapical and periodontal conditions and also some film faults on intra oral radiographs
  3. To have a working knowledge of "Selection Criteria for Dental Radiography" published by FGDP (UK)
  4. To improve techniques to achieve optimisation of intra oral and extra oral views
