This is an MS Teams broadcast of a pre-recorded presentation. Tamsin Devon-Lowe is a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry, and works a Senior Dental Officer in the Berkshire Community Dental Service. Originally from the Wirral, Tamsin qualified in Newcastle in 1990, and then did Vocational Training in General Dental Practice on the Oxford Scheme and has worked in a variety of general practice and community locations. She studied for her Masters in Paediatric Dentistry at The Royal London, and now works in Slough and Reading .

Description: Interactive evidence-based hands-on Oral Surgery training for GDPs & dentists with a special interest in Minor Oral Surgery- an opportunity for dentists to learn and practise the principles and techniques of dentoalveolar surgery performed in daily practice. Course content supports Level 2 competencies. This is the third of three standalone intensive hands on training on sheep jaws. It is not necessary to attend the other days, but ideally you will have already attended the first two hands- on days, and the initial webinar . Description: This course is part one of two (Part 2 22/07/2021), linked with a number of courses designed to provide an Introduction to primary care NHS dentistry – essential for dentists undertaking Performers List Validation by Equivalence (PLVE). This course is also suitable for other dentists who are new to the NHS, dentists returning to NHS practice, and any dental professional interested in learning more about the featured topics. The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2018 (IRMER18) govern the use of ionising radiation in the UK. The GDC recommends that all Dentists and DCPs complete at least 5 hours of CPD in radiography and radiation protection every CPD cycle. As such, both parts are essential to satisfy Schedule 2 of the IRMER regulations for practitioners, as well as core CPD requirements as recommended by the GDC.
