Aims

Dental prescribing refresher webinar

This webinar will seek to refresh delegates on the key aspects of prescribing and patient advice. The session will focus on prescribing for minor/common conditions within primary care.

Learning outcomes

Know the range of medications that can be prescribed in accordance with the BNF dental practitioners formulary

Understand when to prescribe analgesics for dental pain, and which to choose

State the different ways drugs may interact

Identify some common drug interactions that may occur in dental practice and what action could be taken to reduce/remove the impact

List antibiotics that could be given 1st and 2nd line for a bacterial infection

List antifungals that could be prescribed for a superficial fungal infection

Understand where to go for further information/medication related queries in the future
