Mick Allen has had a portfolio career across GDS as a practice owner, CDS as a Consultant in Special Care Dentistry and as a university teacher of sedation and special care dentistry as well as acute dental care. He has a particular interest in the management of people who experience dental anxiety and phobia as well as improving access to oral healthcare services for health inclusion groups. He is interested in how the principles of value-based healthcare can be applied to the dental care setting. In 2016 he and his practice team established the UK’s first employee-owned NHS GDS practice.
