Please join Malcolm and Lucy for an opportunity to ask questions and discuss anything relating to working in the NHS, clinical cases and completing the portfolio. Whilst we might not have all the answers, we can point you in the right direction! This will be a small group, online meeting that we are planning to repeat each month. It's a chance for you to interact with colleagues who may well be facing the same issues as you - for example, how do I take an effective pain history? what's clinical audit? why do I run late? how do I access Script? Really, anything that you would like to discuss in a safe and supportive environment.

Description: If you’re thinking of returning to clinical dentistry, but worried that your handpiece skills are rusty – this is the day for you. Jo and Malcolm will be leading an informal session for dentists, dental therapists, those preparing for ORE and anyone thinking of rejoining the register after a break. We understand this can feel daunting. This is a friendly, non-judgmental opportunity to practice cavity preps, handle materials, explore matrix systems and wrestle with rubber dam. We will be using plastic ‘teeth’ in phantom heads. We will be joined virtually by Professor Foschi, Honorary Consultant and Programme Lead for Endodontics at the University of Plymouth. Prof Foschi will be discussing the reclassification of pulpitis and the implications this has for management. We will consider diagnosis, how we might manage pulpitis with modern vital pulp therapy, and the importance of monitoring complete pulpotomies.
