Description: A days course covering the core topic requirements of infection control in order to understand our legal and professional obligations. The day will include theory of disease and infection, the standard precautions we should all be undertaking, including a practical hand hygiene session. Risk assessments, COSSH, RIDDOR and waste management will be discussed as will antimicrobial stewardship. This day is being led by Nikolai Stankiewicz, a busy practice owner who understands the pressures of general dental practice and has a strong interest in infection control and bringing an evidence based approach to how current guidance applies to General Dental Practice. Nikolai is one of the few dental members of the Infection Prevention Society and is undertaking an MSc in Infection Control.
