Aims

To discuss using experience and knowledge of working within special care to discuss neurodiversity and acclimatisation techniques which can enable patients to better access care.


Objectives

The lecturer will:

  1. describe their experience and knowledge of working with neurodivergent patients.
  2. explain techniques in the management of patients e.g acclimatisation
  3. demonstrate how these techniques can improve access to care for this group of patients.

Learning outcomes

Following the course attendees will be able to:


Recognise neurodivergent symptoms.

Implement tactics and techniques into their own delivery of care.

Reassure patients and their families and have better confidence in the delivery of the treatment prescribed.
