Profile: Anish joined the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy in 2021 as a Dentist Teaching Fellow affiliated with King’s College London. In 2023, he was appointed Clinical Director at the Academy. He is actively involved in undergraduate dental education, delivering academic teaching and clinical supervision while continuing to practise general dentistry. Anish has a strong clinical interest in endodontics and is committed to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice. He also serves as the Course Lead for the Postgraduate Certificate in Conscious Sedation for Dentistry.
With a keen interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Anish has delivered regional presentations on topics such as the management of oro-antral communication with buccal advancement flap and Bio-Gide®, as well as perioperative blindness following bimaxillary osteotomy - providing valuable insights into rare complications associated with these procedures.
Alongside his academic and clinical roles, Anish has been actively involved with the British Dental Association. As Vice-Chair of the Young Dentist Group (Hertfordshire & Middlesex) and General Secretary for the Enfield Section, he has played a key role in delivering accessible, high-quality CPD for dental professionals. |
| Lecturer profile | Known to patients as Joy, graduated in Dentistry from Newcastle University and is dedicated to providing gentle, patient-focused care. Awarded membership to the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 2020, he has presented nationally on periodontal disease and completed advanced training in endodontics and prosthodontics.
A certified Invisalign and SmileFast provider, he emphasises minimally invasive dentistry. Joy is an active researcher, currently studying outcomes of root-treated teeth with deep marginal elevation, and was recognised as a university ‘Research Champion.’ He combines private practice with his role as Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy
