Access to the William Beatty Building can be found on Hampshire Terrace; please enter via the door sign posted staff/student entrance and not the main patient reception entrance. If you have not been to a course at the Dental Academy before, please find directions to the William Beatty Building below, our postcode is PO1 2QG. Take the M275 toward Portsmouth (W)/Sea port. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Commercial Road/A3. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Marketway/A3. Continue to follow A3, go through one roundabout and turn right onto Hampshire Terrace/A3. Continue to follow Hampshire Terrace for approximately 1 minute and you will see the William Beatty Building (Dental Academy) on the right. Parking - There is on-road parking along Hampshire Terrace which is pay by meter. The Dental School is a short walk from Portsmouth and Southsea Railway Station. | ||

| Objectives | 1. Discuss the principles of endodontic diagnosis and pre-operative assessment. 2. Identify the anatomical features and considerations relevant to access cavity preparation in upper molars, lower molars, and premolars. 3. Demonstrate appropriate access cavity preparation techniques for upper molars, lower molars, and premolars on simulated models. 4. Compare the indications, advantages, and limitations of direct and indirect restorative options. 5. Describe the principles of tooth preparation for anterior crowns and posterior indirect restorations. 6. Demonstrate appropriate tooth preparation designs for anterior crowns and posterior indirect restorations in accordance with contemporary restorative principles. 7. Evaluate the quality of access cavity and tooth preparations and identify areas for improvement. | ||
