Having worked as a dental nurse in a fast-paced NHS practice, Harriet pursued a career as a Dental Hygienist. She has experienced working in both NHS and private practice, and most recently for the Ministry of Defence. She currently holds the post of Oral Health and Dental Care Professional Development Lead for NHS England South West Workforce, Training & Education directorate.
Throughout her career, Harriet has been passionate about increasing educational opportunities for DCPs and working with the wider health and social care workforce to increase knowledge of the importance of good oral health and its impact on overall health and well-being. This passion lead to her fulfilling a position in NHS W,T&E where, alongside her role as DCP Development Lead, she is the programme lead for Mouth Care Matters in the South West. Harriet was a course tutor for the inaugural Oral Health Practitioner Apprenticeship in 2021-2022.
