Description | This evening is an additional evening to look at the Oral Health Practitioner Apprenticeship. This evening is entirely devoted to Dental Nurses and Student Dental Nurses. The Dental Nurse monthly meetings have been set up for Dental Nurses in the south region (Ox/Bucks/Berks/Hamps/I.O.W) to give Dental Nurses an ability to network and share ideas through open discussion, support their wellbeing, plus be empowered to progress and further their career if they wish to do so. This will be delivered via Webinar. Harriet Buley-Snell talks about the opportunities out there for Dental Nurses, empowerment and the important role of Oral Health Practitioner, via an apprenticeship. Following this will be an open forum and peer review discussion chaired by our guest speaker and the Tutor facilitating. GDC outcomes A, C & D. | ||
Additional information | Harriet is Regional Oral Health and Dental Care Professional Development Lead, NHS England South West. Having worked as a Dental Nurse in a fast-paced NHS practice, Harriet pursued a career as a Dental Hygienist. She has experienced working in both NHS and private practice, and most recently for the Ministry of Defence. She currently holds the post of Oral Health and Dental Care Professional Development Lead for NHS England South West Workforce, Training & Education directorate. Throughout her career, Harriet has been passionate about increasing educational opportunities for DCPs and working with the wider health and social care workforce to increase knowledge of the importance of good oral health and its impact on overall health and well-being. This passion lead to her fulfilling a position in NHS W,T&E where, alongside her role as DCP Development Lead, she is the programme lead for Mouth Care Matters in the South West.
