Description: Interactive evidence-based hands-on Oral Surgery training for GDPs & dentists with a special interest in Minor Oral Surgery- an opportunity for dentists to learn and practise the principles and techniques of dentoalveolar surgery performed in daily practice. This is Day 3 of three standalone days of intensive hands on training on sheep heads. It is not necessary to attend all 3 days, but ideally you would have already attended Hands on Day 2 and one of the Oral Surgery webinars (in June & September 2020, or 21st January or 12th March 2021). Other modules: Day 2 16th March 2021: Basic concepts, including incisions, suturing and flap design, extraction of teeth, elevation of roots; haemostasis. Description: This is a half hour webinar by Neil Scott. Neil is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial / Head & Neck surgeon in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, South Wales. The majority of his practice involves ablative and reconstructive surgery for oral cancer. Neil undertook his medical and dental degrees at Bart's and The London followed by junior doctor posts in London, Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) and Wessex. Neil gained a National Training Number in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery in 2013 and headed to South Wales to complete his training, gaining his FRCS(OMFS) in 2017 and taking up a consultant post in 2018. In addition to his busy NHS practice, the remainder of Neil’s times is taken up with his role as the British Boxing

Neil graduated from Guy’s Hospital with his BDS degree and several awards including the Newland Pedley award for the most clinically outstanding student and the Saunders prize for best patient care. After working in several hospital senior house officer posts including restorative dentistry, oral medicine and children’s dentistry (community and special needs) he was accepted on to the specialist post graduate degree at Guys. In 2009, Neil was highly commended for the best young dentist award in 2009 in London. Following completion of his MclinDent in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and MPros RCS (Edin), he was recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Prosthodontics. In addition to working in practice, Neil is currently a Senior Clinical teaching fellow at the Eastman Dental Institute where he lectures and teaches postgraduate dentists.
