| Lecturer profile | James graduated from the University of Manchester in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery. He then proceeded to gain membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery RCPSG and a PGCert in Medical Education. He graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2022 with a degree in Medicine, undertaking Foundation training in Exeter and entering Oral Medicine specialty training at Bristol Dental Hospital in 2023.
James has worked in general dental practice, completed further core training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Special Care Dentistry and Oral Medicine, and continues to treat patients in primary care on weekends. He works as Education Associate and a Fitness to Practice panellist for the General Dental Council. He is also a Specialist Advisor for the CQC, undertaking inspections across England. James is currently chair of the board of trustees for NEBDN and is a strong advocate for dental nurse education, training and career development.
As an Oral Medicine Specialty trainee, James helps diagnose and manage patients with acute and chronic pain associated with a variety of conditions. |
