| Lecturer profile | David qualified BDS from QUB, he worked in hospitals and in full time NHS General Practice for 4 years before gaining FDS(RCPS) and then he was awarded a scholarship to the Eastman Dental Hospital where he graduated with an MSc in Cons and Endodontics. David was a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at RKH in Riyadh and passed MRD(RCS Ed) and MGDS(RCPS) before returning to open the first specialist restorative and prosthodontic practice in Belfast as a squat. He has had a lifelong passion for dental education, especially with a practical focus and was appointed as a postgraduate tutor in NI for 11 years and also as an honorary senior lecturer in the School of Dentistry. During this period he set up 4 dental general practice study clubs and has continued to lecture in all four regions of the UK and in Ireland and Dubai. After many years working full time in practice, he wants to give back to the profession and understands the many challenges facing current practitioners. |
