Aims

To provide overseas dentists preparing for the ORE Part 2 examination with an opportunity to enhance their confidence, understanding, and readiness through expert guidance, peer learning, hands-on familiarisation with the phantom head, and participation in a realistic mock examination.

Objectives

By the end of the practice day, participants will be able to:

1. Describe at least three key strategies for preparing for the ORE Part 2 examination, following the revision and examination guidance session delivered by an ORE examiner.

2. Identify at least two practical tips from the lived-experience session that they can incorporate into their own examination preparation plan.

3. Demonstrate familiarity with the phantom head equipment and clinical environment by participating in the hands-on demonstration and practice session.

4. Apply time management and examination techniques during the mock examination, completing assigned tasks within the allocated timeframes.

5. Reflect on their own preparedness for the ORE Part 2 examination by identifying at least three personal strengths and three areas for further development following feedback from the mock examination.

6. Increase their confidence in approaching the ORE Part 2 examination, as evidenced through self-assessment completed before and after the training day.

Learning outcomes

Following the session, participants will be able to:

· Better understand the structure and expectations of the ORE Part 2 examination.

· Recognise effective revision and preparation techniques.

· Gain insights from candidates who have successfully completed the examination.

· Demonstrate increased confidence in working within the phantom head environment.

· Apply learning from a simulated examination experience to support future exam success.
