Description | Please join us for an interactive and practical update day on IV sedation, cannulation and venepuncture. The course is suitable for all members of the team providing sedation as part of the requirements for the recommended 12 hours of sedation-related verifiable CPD in each 5 year cycle. Theory sessions will cover patient assessment, safety and cannulation tips and tricks and how to manage those difficult situations. Hands on activities will include cannulation practice on training arms then an opportunity to practice on each other in a clinical setting in the Exeter Dental Education Clinical Teaching Facility. Chris Bell and Tim Harris have a wealth of experience in dental IV sedation and share their top tips in a relaxed atmosphere. This will be a relatively small group. | ||
Additional information | This course is open to all who have previous experience with IV sedation – this is not a sedation qualification course but update. Please bring safety glasses for the clinical activity and scrub tops to wear with suitable lower garments and footwear for a clinical environment. Standard masks, aprons and powder-free nitrile gloves will be provided but if you require non-standard items please bring your own. There is no catering available at the Dental Education Facility- please bring your own lunch. Registration is at 9.45 for a 10.00 start- please see the programme for more details on the day. | ||
