Aims

The aim of the day is to be better prepared to deal with the non-dental issues which our special needs patients may present with, so that we are better able to meet their needs when delivering appropriate care.

Objectives

1) Be able to recognise/diagnose frailty in people presenting for dental treatment

2) Understand the key relevancies of people with special needs on dental practice

3) Recognise the adverse effects of medications in people on both oral health and overall health

4) To understand our own limitations  and know when to treat or refer.
