10.00am Registration

10.15am Presentation on Class 2 preparations.

10.30am Cut a Class 2 cavity MO LR6.

11.30am Presentation on amalgam, packing and carving.

11.50am Place and carve amalgam in prepped tooth LR6.

12.30-1.30pm Lunch.

1.30-4.00pm Complete the Phantom Head Exercise using 3D teeth and feedback forms from ESs.

4.00pm FDs may leave, ESs to discuss outcomes with TPDs present and AD. Future learning needs planned.

5.00pm Close session.

Aims

The aims of the course

to allow participants to have a practical  understanding of the use of Amalgam

To allow the deanery to understand if there are any practical learning issues associated with delegates

Objectives

By the end of course delegates will Be able

to prepare and fill an Amalgam cavity

demonstrated and carry out appropriate cavity design for composite fillings

demonstrate their understanding of a Crown preparation and prepare typodont teeth 

Learning outcomes

The deanery has little understanding of overseas graduates clinical experience. It is an opportunity to ensure that they have the appropriate clinical skills to start  Foundation training without additional clinical support.

It is to help identify any individuals who may need additional support and not intended as a summative assessment but as a formative assessment allowing tailored support
