Aims | To provide FDs with an overview of implant maintenance, diagnosis of missing tooth spaces and their suitability for dental implants, how to provide implants as a treatment option to the patient (appropriate referral), how to monitor and maintain dental implants in practice, and how to diagnose peri-implant complications. |
Learning outcomes | By the end of the session FDs should be able to: - Perform an assessment and diagnosis of a missing tooth space and its potential suitability for dental implants - Provide implants as a treatment option to the patient (appropriate referral) - Describe an appropriate regime of implant maintenance after placement - Perform a health assessment of a placed implant - Identify, diagnose and refer peri-implant complications for treatment |
