DescriptionThe first of these 2 days on perio management in general practice covers the latest thinking on disease epidemiology and aetiology. Screening for periodontal diseases is addressed in detail followed by assessment methods and how to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. Treatment planning principles for periodontal management will then be discussed and the course will finish with tips on achieving better levels of self care and contemporary thoughts on non-surgical therapy, including the role of antimicrobials.
