SubjectPatient safety
DescriptionIf you've ever wondered why even as the most highly trained and diligent dental professionals, you are still prone to making errors and mistakes then come along to an inter-active webinar to find out more. This webinar will look at safety critical industries such as aviation to view and discuss how an evidence-based approach has been used to understand human factors and system safety. The webinar will discuss topics such as stress, fatigue, situation awareness, communication, briefing and debriefing to see how they impact on the performance of individuals and dental teams. The session aims to enhance patient safety through an understanding of the impact of human factors.

This course will complement the "Human Factors, Never Events and Erroneous Extractions" course on Thursday 27 May 2021, for those who would like to look at human factors in more depth and look at implementing changes in their practices to enhance teamwork and patient and staff safety

There are limited places on this course to allow for interaction with case studies and discussions in an informal situation so we can understand how human factors affect us all daily.
