Aims

To improve knowledge of the management of acute dental trauma in paediatric patients

Objectives

1. Discuss different traumatic dental injuries (TDIs) that may present in paediatric dental patients using case examples

2. Highlight how initial management impacts upon long term prognosis

3. Provide the opportunity to gain experience at partial pulpotomies, splinting and use of anterior crown forms in a clinical skills environment

1. Know how TDIs may present in children and young people

2. Understand the importance of timely management of TDIs

3. Know the most appropriate management techniques
