Lecturer profileIn 1991 David was one of the founders of Casterbridge Dental Studio, Along with his wife Penny and then business partner Paul Carroll. He qualified in 1988 after serving an apprenticeship with Broughton & Tyrrell where he attended South London College as a day release student, gaining his BTEC national diploma in science (dental technology).

He has since trained all over the world attending courses in, among other places, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and the USA. His main technical skills and experience lie within crown & bridge and more recently implantology. He has recently attended KAVO in Germany twice undergoing training on the Everest CAD/CAM milling system.

David plays an active role with the Dental Laboratories Association (DLA) which in 2001 led to his election to the four chairs, and in 2004 he became Chairman of the Dental Laboratories Association. Amongst other things he has worked to promote DAMAS, where he was on the board of the DAMAS Advisory Group, until becoming the DLA's portfolio holder for Statutory Registration.

During his time with the DLA he has gained valuable experience travelling to speak and lecture on their behalf. ¨He has a strong interest in new developments and new technology, and strives to ensure that Casterbridge are able to produce in-lab all the latest products and systems available.
