Aims

Delegate to gain the core knowledge of ionising radiation as a CPD requirement.

Objectives

By the end of the session the delegates should be able to:

  • Understand the terminology - ionising radiation
  • Be able to understand why there are risks when using ionising radiation and what effect these have, and
  • How we can minimise these risks
  • Gain the knowledge of how a radiograph is produced
  • Gain an understanding of quality assurrance in relation to dental radiographs
  • Be given a practical test to do within their own practices to prepare them for the 2nd module
