Aims
  • To promote the requirements for and benefits of CPD for DCPs
  • To equip DCPs with knowledge and tools to plan, unerdertake, evidence and review their own CPD activity (ie via PDP's and CPD evidence records) 
Objectives

By the end of the event, learners will:

  • Appreciate the purpose and requirements of the new GDC framework for CPD activity and evidence (“Why ?”).
  • Embrace the principles of self-driven CPD, and the personal and professional benefits to be gained from this approach (“Why ?” and “What ?”).
  • Be able to identify formal and informal personal development requirements in relation to their current job roles and career aspirations (“What ?”).
  • Be able to create a structured and clear PDP including a range suitable options for CPD activities, and review the progress of this plan on an ongoing basis (“How ?”).
  • Be equipped with a range of tools and techniques to formally record and evidence their CPD activity (“How ?”).
