Aims

To introduce a simple technique which results in a highly aesthetic composite restoration which is easy to place, with instruments common to all dental offices, using minimal shades of composite resin.

Objectives
  • To understand when posterior composite resin placement is predictable...and when it is not.
  • Discussion of a simplified, stratification technique using internal tints and a novel placement technique to consistently achieve lifelike resin restorations.
  • Presentation of a predictable technique to achieve anatomical contours in a class 2 situation which require minimal finishing.
  • The practical placement of direct composite resin restorations in molar teeth: simple class 1, complex class1 with palatal extension, complex class2, composite onlay.
  • A strategy for predictable class 2 contacts (The Triodent V3 matrix)
