Aims

To enhance dental teams' understanding of the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN), optimise the quality and timing of orthodontic referrals, and be able to manage retention issues.

Objectives

By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:


  • Demonstrate the application of the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN) using clinical case photographs, and explain how to identify developing malocclusions that may require orthodontic referral.
  • Describe the criteria for effective orthodontic referrals and outline key considerations in referral timing, case selection, and pathway suitability.
  • Explain current guidance on orthodontic retention
