| Description | This is a fantastic opportunity to gain another 12 hours CPD via webinars, lectures and some hands on experience both table top and in a clinical skills lab covering aspects of tooth wear, occlusion and splints. Professor Brian Millar and Dr. Fariha Hussain from Kings College London will deliver a large amount of information on this topic via blended learning. There will be some practical elements that can be tried table top and an opportunity to gain more hands on experience in the CSL. This will be quite a fast paced course building on existing knowledge but there will be plenty of chances to ask questions in a relaxed environment and an opportunity to hear about further learning available with Prof. Millar and Dr Hussain at KCL. |
| Additional information | This is a blended learning course with: a) 6 hours of webinars and a coursebook sent to complete in your own time approx one month before the course date b) 6 hours of lecture and hands-on experience Delegates will receive 12 hours of CPD after attending the hands-on day on 17/04/26. Please ensure you bring suitable clinical attire for the hands-on session. You are also welcome to bring loupes if you wear them. This course is for members of the dental team who diagnose and manage tooth wear using indirect and direct techniques in their scope of practice. There will be sections that are only with in the scope of practice of a dentist but other team members are welcome to attend if they are interested in this topic or work with other dental team members for shared patient management. The course will cover more advanced techniques and will be an opportunity to hear about further training opportunities offered at KCL. |

| Aims | The aim of this course is to provide a deeper understanding of the intervention options and management of tooth wear in general practice, including the use of splints. |
| Objectives | By the end of this course delegates should: 1. Be able to diagnose tooth wear and understand the intervention options from monitoring and prevention to intervention for both localised and generalised tooth wear. 2. Know how to intervene using contemporary materials to replace missing tissue and correct occlusal problems due to tooth surface loss, restoring function and aesthetics while protecting the teeth 3. Be able to maintain worn dentitions by easily refurbishing composite materials as well as having a structured approach to replacing them with indirect materials 4. Be able to use occlusal splints to manage a range of conditions including tooth wears, TMDS, bruxism and sleep apnoea |
| Learning outcomes | At the end of the course, participants will be able to: 1. Carry out interventions for tooth wear ranging from monitoring and prevention to treatment 2. Intervene using contemporary material to replace missing tissue and correct occlusal problems due to tooth surface loss, restoring function and aesthetics while protecting the teeth 3.
