DescriptionThis course is an opportunity to consider how we might replace missing teeth. We will be joined by Musaab Siddiqui (Consultant in Prosthodontics, University of Bristol Dental School) who will be considering the appropriate use of Resin Bonded Bridges (RBB), including case selection and clinical techniques. We will also be revising the principles of partial denture design with the opportunity practice using plastic models. This will be a small group course, of no more than fifteen dentists, with plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and clinical tips.

Aims

The aim of this course is to provide an opportunity for participants to consider how they might best replace missing teeth, focusing on Resin Bonded Bridges and Removable Partial Dentures.

Objectives

Following the course delegates will,

1. Explain the concept of Resin Bonded Bridge (RBB) as a treatment modality for missing teeth

2. Describe the importance of case selection appropriate for RRB

3. List the key requirements that assist with design for RBB and list the materials required

4. Recognise the clinical technique and cementation process for RBB

5. Describe the different principles of denture design

6. Confidently design partial dentures for maxillary and mandibular arches on denture design models

7. Recognise the use of different dentures appropriate to clinical situations

Learning outcomes

Participants will be more confident providing RRB and partial dentures for their patients with missing teeth.
