Aims

The aim of this session is to update knowledge on the impact a learning disability can have on adults for general and oral health and their management in dental practice.

Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will:

1. Be able to define a learning disability

2. Be able to describe the impact this condition may have on oral and general health

3. Be able to identify possible barriers to oral health for those living with a learning disability

4. Explain scientific communication skills that can be used to deliver prevention for this group
