DescriptionPlease join us for a day on using direct composite materials in anterior and posterior teeth. Content will cover assessing damaged teething selecting an appropriate treatment option, using bulk fill, monolayer and multilayer techniques to provide aesthetic functional restorations on anterior and posterior teeth. This course is lecture based with opportunities to practice techniques on models (table top). It will build on existing knowledge and will be an opportunity to hear about further learning available with Prof. Millar at KCL. Course notes will be made available in advance of the day.

Professor Brian Millar is coming to Salisbury for 2 days. 11/7/25 is covering Indirect Restorations. These courses are available to book separately. Prof. Millar courses tend to book very quickly so please put your name on the waiting list if there are no places.

The course is for all those who undertake composite restorations as part of their scope of practice but may cover some more advanced techniques more suitable for dentists.

Registration will be at 9.15 and the course will start at 9.30 am.

Please note this is a lecture based course and not held in a clinical skills lab.

Aims

The aim of this course is to describe techniques to provide aesthetic and functional restorations for anterior and posterior teeth with direct composite materials.


Objectives

By the end of this course participants should be able to:


Describe how to use composite and adhesives to repair damaged teeth with aesthetic and functional restorations.

Recognise how to achieve aesthetic results while restoring teeth and smiles.

Select and use appropriate materials and techniques to deal with subgingival margins and large contact areas.

Explain techniques to quickly obtain the correct occlusal contacts.

Learning outcomes

After this course participants will be able to;


1. assess damaged teeth and select treatment options

2. use adhesives and composites to replace missing tooth tissue aesthetically and functionally, using bulk-fill, monolayer and multilayer techniques.

3. restore posterior cavities.
