DescriptionThis session covers the dental team training requirements for all forms of conscious sedation and surgery set up for IV sedation. Inhalation sedation set up will not be covered in detail in this session This will be an interactive course aimed at all members of the dental team working with sedation.

This is part 3 of a series of 4 update training sessions delivered via on zoom

Delegates can book on to an individual course or all 4 (each course must be booked separately)

Please note on 27th November 2024  there is also a hands on cannulation course in Exeter available to book on Maxcourse if you wish to practice IV cannulation techniques.

All courses will consist of short presentations and live Q/A sessions

CPD certificates will be available after the course so your place must be booked via Maxcourse.

Aims

The aim of this session is to:

Outline the necessary equipment and supplies for setting up for an efficient, safe, and practical dental sedation surgery.

Recognise the role and responsibilities of each team member to emphasize the importance of teamwork, communication, co-ordination during sedation procedures.

Objectives

By the end of this session participants should be able to;

1. Prepare a surgery set up effectively, safely and confidently with equipment and supplies relevant to IV sedation .

 

2. Form a sedation team that can demonstrate clear communication, co-ordination and efficiency to their scope of practice.

Learning outcomes

By achieving these aims, this course will equip delegates with the knowledge, skills and confidence to run a surgery ensuring high standards, patient care, safety and efficiency when offering conscious sedation dental treatments.
