Aims

This webinar aims to provide professionals with an understanding of domestic abuse, coercive control, and warning signs of abuse.  It will also aim to give professionals with the tools to appropriately manage disclosures of domestic abuse.

Objectives

By attending this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Define domestic abuse and coercive control
  • Recognise tactics used by perpetrators
  • Identify warning signs of domestic abuse
  • Ask questions to better understand victims experiences of domestic abuse
  • Respond to disclosures to domestic abuse effectively
  • Refer and signpost patients to domestic abuse services appropriately

After this course, delegates will feel confident to recognise signs of domestic abuse and know how and where to signpost people who are experiencing domestic abuse.
