DescriptionThis course covers the use of composite as a convenient material to help clinicians design improved smiles, protect teeth against tooth wear, improve the occlusion as well as to restore teeth. It will be a lecture based course with table top practice elements. This course builds on existing knowledge and is an opportunity to hear about further training opportunities delivered by Prof. Millar and Dr Hussain at KCL.

This course is at the Holiday Inn Junction 25, M5, NOT the Holiday Inn Express- please see venue details.

Registration will be at 9.00 and the course will start at 9.30 am.


Please note this is a  lecture based course and not held in a clinical skills lab.

This course will be repeated  tomorrow, Friday 29th September 2023 in Dorset and is similar to the course held in Bristol in October 2022.

To provide an understanding of how to improve aesthetics and function with composite materials.

Objectives

By the end of this course participants should be able to:


1. Describe how to use composite to test a smile design

2. Use composite to make an aesthetic veneer

3. Explain how to use composite to improve the occlusion.

4. Describe how to deal with subgingival margins.

5. Demonstrate how to obtain good proximal contact areas

6. Analyse how to get the occlusion correct quickly.

7. Describe how to upgrade the initial composite to improved materials both direct and indirect

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course participants will:


Be able to use composite in a range of ways to improve aesthetics and function, protect teeth including modifying the occlusion.
