Endodotics - Back to Basics Hands On (SW23-03-25-1)

DescriptionDr Erlind Pepla (Endodontic Lead, Bristol University) and Dr Louise Foster (Consultant in Restorative Dentistry) will be joining us in Bristol to refresh our endodontic skills. Alongside short lectures, there will be the opportunity for hands on practice using rotary and reciprocating instrumentation with plastic Endo Vu blocks and typodont teeth. We will cover restorability, placement of rubber dam, access cavity design, obturation and potential complications.
Additional information

All dentists are very welcome, at any stage of their career.  This course is suitable for PVLE colleagues.

We will be focusing on providing good quality, basic endodontics.  If you are looking to extend your endodontic skills this may not be the course for you.

Aims

To update on modern endodontics using materials and equipment that simplify treatment and are cost effective for NHS practice

Objectives

1. Understand the diagnosis and assessment surrounding decisions for endodontic and linked restorative treatment

2. Gain proficiency in rubber dam placement including choice of clamps

3. Have hands on experience with continuous rotation and reciprocation system to prepare a typodont tooth

4. Understand the importance of irrigation and obturation

5. Gain an understanding of the importance of good coronal seal

Learning outcomes

Participants will gain an understanding of modern endodontic treatment workflow with simplified techniques to deliver efficient, safe and reproducible endodontic treatment.
