SubjectRestorative dentistry
DescriptionFOR PLVE TRAINEES ONLY. A whole day course in the clinical skills lab at Bristol Dental Hospital covering the theory of Crown, Bridge and Onlay,preparation. The course will include a hands on element to update and revisit the preparations. This course is limited to PLVE dentists and numbers will be limited due to Social Distancing within the lab. The course will be led by Musaab Siddiqui who is a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow and Honorary Consultant in the Restorative Department at the University of Bristol, as well as working in general dental practice.

Aims

1-  To revisit preparation and design for crowns, bridges and onlays - with specialist tips and common pitfalls.

 

2- Hands on preparation with feedback.

 

3- Discussion of temporisation and cementation.

Objectives

 By the end of the course-

Delegates will be able to assess and provide the most appropriate long term restoration for a damaged tooth.

Learning outcomes

 To revisit knowledge in the principles of crown, bridge and onlay preparation for the restoration of damaged tooth surfaces thereby helping to maintain a patients dentition.
