DescriptionAndrew was one of our Educational Supervisors and runs a large practice in North Cornwall. He is Chair of the Local Dental Committee which makes him very qualified to talk about important issues such as record keeping, relationships with colleagues, remaining ethical when planning and carrying out treatment. He also loves new technology and in the afternoon we will be looking at the new world of digital dentistry.

Aims

To explain the importance of good record keeping

To give an insight into the function of the Local Dental Committee and how it can support colleagues

Highlighting ethical dilemmas and how to stay on the right side of the regulations.

To explore digital impressions and the opportunities they create in orthodontics, restorative dentistry, prosthetics and surgical planning for implants.

An introduction to digital smile design.

Explores the uses in clinical record keeping, monitoring, occlusal analysis and diagnosis.

An introduction to 3D printing.

 Practical - Record a digital record and scan each other or models.

Objectives

Be aware of how to keep good records

Understand the LDC and how it functions

Know how to avoid moral and ethical traps in dentistry

Understand how digital technologies can enhance the patient experience

Be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of new technologies.
