DescriptionJames Puryer (Senior Clinical Lecturer, Restorative Dentistry) will be joining us in Bristol to help us improve our crown preparations. We will be exploring when, where and how to prep teeth for metal and ceramic options. There will be plenty of opportunity for hands on practice and discussion. This will be a small, informal group of no more than twelve dentists.
Additional information

All dentists are very welcome, at any stage of their career. This course is suitable for PVLE colleagues.


We will be focusing on providing good quality, basic crown preparations (including zirconia and ceramics).  If you are looking to extend your crown and bridge skills this may not be the course for you.

Lunch will not be provided - please bring a packed lunch

Aims

This course aims to update your clinical knowledge of crown preparations  and provide practical experience using a dental mannequin.

Objectives

During this course, participants will revise the features and indications for:

1. Full metal crowns

2. Zirconia crowns

3. Porcelain fused to metal crowns (PFM)

4. Ceramic crowns

 

Participants will have the opportunity to gain hands on practice and critique the following preps:

5. Full metal Crowns

6. Zirconia crowns

7. PFM Crown

8. All ceramic
