Aims

The aim of these workshops is to introduce DCPs to the role of dentists as educators and to begin to develop the required skills to fulfil this aspect of their professional role.

Objectives

To discuss the role of dentists as educators
To introduce the concept of adult learning and its relevance to professional education
To introduce the learning cycle and apply it to the process of planning and delivering learning events
To reflect on own strengths and areas for development as an educator.

- identify the learning needs of others
- plan, deliver and evaluate tutorials and demonstrations
- provide feedback
- incorporate education goals into their personal PDP.
