Additional information | Course given by Dr Alon Preiskel BDS MClinDent MRD MFDS RCS EMBA Dr Alon Preiskel is a Consultant Prosthodontist at Guy’s Hospital and a partner at Preiskel Prosthodontics in London. He is the founder of Collaborate Dental Group and President elect of the American Prosthodontics Society. He has also gained an Executive MBA from London Business School which led him to his interest and research in the effects of corporate ownership in dentistry. His teaching experience includes serving as the Program Coordinator of the implant diploma at the Eastman Dental Institute (London) and teaching Prosthodontic specialist trainees at Guy’s Hospital where he completed his Prosthodontic training program. Dr Preiskel is a member of numerous dental societies and lectures frequently at national and international meetings including the American Prosthodontics Society, Academy of Prosthodontics, International College of Prosthodontics, IJP Young Prosthodontic Educators and at the London Nobel Biocare symposium. Dr Preiskel sits on the Executive Council of the American Prosthodontic Society and on committees of the International College of Prosthodontics. He is a reviewer for the International Journal of Implant Dentistry and Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. He has lectured in the UK, Europe and USA about the drivers and effects of corporate Dentistry. Dr Preiskel founded Collaborate Dental Group to provide dentists all the benefits of being in a large organisation whilst maintaining their independence, autonomy and professionalism. Collaborate dental harnesses the collective assets of our dental community and enabling dentists to provide better dentistry to our patients and a better career for our dentists and support staff. Derek Turner Derek Turner spent the last 17 years within the dental industry. Prior to that he spent most of his career turning businesses around through process changes, business development, marketing, team building with his enthusiasm and passion within organisations such as Virgin and Shell UK Within dentistry he has been a Regional Manager, Chief Operations Officer and Company Director for several of the ‘larger’ dental corporates and has also been a practice owner himself. He has a wealth of experience working within NHS, PVT and Specialist settings. Stabilising group performances, leading CQC compliance, increasing turnover and reducing costs through supplier relationships and internal market knowledge, building practice systems and financial performance. Derek is a firm believer that dentistry can be done better and that we don’t have to rely on historic solutions. We should be using the power, knowledge and expertise of the owning dentist to do so. Now with CDG he sees the future being that of collaborating with business owners growing their business through membership by delivering quality led expertise and support. CDG enables a supporting community and provides the power of a larger group, whilst enabling practice owners to retain their autonomy and ownership.
