SubjectMiscellaneous
DescriptionTreating patients with an exaggerated gag reflex is distressing, for the patient and the operator. It may result in the patient avoiding attending for dental treatment. We categorise the exaggerated gag reflex as having either a somatic or psychological cause. This course will examine the reasons the gag reflex becomes exaggerated and how we can help patients cope with it.
